University of Nottingham Postgraduate Application Fee Guide

Check the fee position for your course on that page before you apply. The 2026/27 international deadline for taught master's was 3 August 2026.
What we reported in October 2025
In October 2025 we reported that Nottingham would stop charging PGT application fees. We could not find this on Nottingham's own pages in October 2026, so check the Apply page for the current position.
Fee policies can change from one admissions cycle to the next. So for 2026/27 and 2027/28 entry, don't rely on news from 2025. Go by what the official Apply page and your course page say on the day you apply.
Why the application fee matters for Indian students
If a university does not charge an application fee, you can apply to more than one course without the cost adding up. That gives you room to:
- apply to two or three related courses, such as data science and computer science
- compare offers before you pay a deposit
- apply again in a later cycle if your marks or IELTS score improve
Whatever the fee position, the bigger costs come after your offer: the CAS deposit, tuition and living costs. These are covered below.

For start dates from August 2025 to July 2026, the CAS deposit was £3,000. The deposit applies once you have accepted an offer and need a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for your UK student visa. It may be waived if you hold a full tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored.
Application tips
- Apply early. The international deadline (3 August for 2026/27) was three weeks before the UK one. Aim to apply well before it, so you have time for your CAS and visa.
- Check your course page for entry requirements. Nottingham sets the minimum degree result and English score per course, so read the requirements on the page for the course you want.
- Get your documents ready before you start. You will usually need:
- your degree certificate (if completed) and your final or current transcript
- a personal statement, if your course asks for one
- two references, if your course asks for them (at least one academic)
- your passport details (needed later for your CAS)
- a CV, if admissions ask for one
- an English language test result, if your course asks for one
